new born

More new public footpaths walked this morning from home, this time towards the neighbouring village of Wyndley. The walk along the valley floor took us through many fields of lambs but in one field we came across this new born. He was the second and the largest of the 2 lambs. The eldest was really shivering in the cool wind and took some time before it found its way to suckle.
Back home the robins fledged this morning but I still haven't seen them and unsure how many there are. The parents kept going to various areas at the base of the hedge and the fledglings remained deep in the undergrowth. I think the biggest danger around are the jackdaws, I hope they make it through their first night and hope to get a glimpse of them tomorrow.
We also saw our first swallow.
