Greylag Record Groove Ripples

I visited Mount Pond first thing this morning and the light was wonderful: it was chilly and the light had that wintry crispness, and facing towards the low sun left the water very golden, while facing away left the subject beautifully lit...
For this photo I was facing perpendicular to the sunlight (with the sun to my right); this greylag goose was preening its breast very persistently, and in jostling its head it was creating these regular ripples that emanated out from underneath it. I like the way that it has framed the greylag in very regular (record-like) rings of ripples. The effect is (as usual) more satisfying in large.
