North-West Sunset

As the year moves on it grows warmer, and the days are longer. However the sun also takes a new path, spending longer above the trees and as the sunset moves towards north that changes where we sit and what we see.
If the sun is shining and it's not too windy it's now lovely to sit just outside our front door in the evening, an area in shadow all through the winter. We often have a cup of tea, or a glass of something, sitting there before heading inside for the evening meal.
The world also looks a little different when the light comes from the north-west. These birch tree branches, normally seen in silhouette as the sun rises, or in shadow most of the day, suddenly looks much brighter, especially picked out against the darker trees behind. Those hanging twigs are filled with buds and will soon be  turning green as the new leaves arrive.
What a lovely place to live!
