The Comma was quite well camouflaged among the leaves and until recently would have been am unusual butterfly to see in this hedge. Although it was relatively common in England and Wales, following a period when it had been confined to the Welsh borders in the mid !9th century, it was rare in Scotland but now is one of the butterflies whose numbers have greatly increased probably due to the warmer temperatures with climate change.
