kindness...

...matters

especially when it’s unexpected

a couple months ago - i ordered a few succulent plants - from a very reputable company online - they were delivered in - very fine shape and were - doing exceedingly well until - yesterday when i went to - water them and one of the - plants literally fell apart - in my hands - needless to say - i was distraught - not understanding what happened - i prepared to call said company - and armed myself with the - usual litany of expected - arguments and/or statements - of defense even though i didn’t think - i was in the wrong - but you know how - calls to customer service can go

so imagine my utter delight - not to mention astonishment - when the rep replied - “oh no, i am so very sorry - this has happened to you - i can get a replacement - to you tomorrow at no cost to you” - i wept - “really,” i said - “yes, absolutely” - no hesitation - no questions asked - no pictures wanted or in-depth explanation - she took me at my word - and only wanted to make it better - after much heartfelt - conversation, i told her - i wasn’t expecting such a response - therefore she could - surprise me with the replacement

this morning, 2 boxes arrived - for me containing plants - equaling 4 times what i originally - paid including this lovely - planter of succulents - i was astonished at their generosity - as well as the kindness - i felt radiating from these packages

if only more people had - kindness as a priority - in their hearts as we - navigate through these difficult - and challenging times - it doesn’t take much effort to reach - out with a soft word - a smile, a helping hand - for once, there is no dividing line - we’re all in this together - and it’s up to us - to make sure we all have...

a

happy day.....
