Frangipani Buds and Bougainvillea Glabra

Friday afternoons J and I usually go for a long coastal, harbour or bushwalk, but the last few weeks we’ve stayed closer to home. Today we walked through Newtown, Darlington and Redfern to Surry Hills, where we’d both lived, in our 20s. Like everywhere in the inner city, it’s leafier and wealthier than it once was, but the old haunts were still there. The bougainvillea in the extra are at the top of McElhone Place, where J lived back then. It’s a beautiful street.
