Gasometer

Today’s long walk was from Meadowbank along the river to Parramatta, about 10km, with a ferry back. AnnieBelle did this a couple of weeks ago, on the day the ribbon was slashed.

The river is lined with mangroves, with bits of old industry poking up - this gasometer, concrete works, zigzag roofed factories.

My walking buddy dropped me off in Newtown, so I showed her the Hill’s Hoist in the park (extra). Someone has been swinging on it; one rib is broken and the goon bag has gone. But it was festooned with balloons.

I prefer the extra, but the mangroves and industry were more representative of the day.

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend.
