It’s A Knockout!

The plan today had been to photograph the ongoing and loving refurbishment of my knackered old bike out on our back lawn. A minor family emergency suddenly intervened though, with phoned news of my mum’s bad trip and fall - ironically off the kerb right outside of her own GP surgery in Silsden, West Yorkshire.

Happy to report, after a quick mercy-dash across the Pennines to pick her up from Airedale A&E, that other than a few minor cuts, a bloody nose, black eye, sprained wrist and bruised knee she is fine, and now back home enjoying a cuppa (first), and now iced Gin and Tonic (second). I actually bought the ice to put on her knee, but it seemed a shame to waste the opportunity.

We are counting our blessings for this 88 year old. Seems Airedale NHS X-Ray Department told her that the “good news” at least was that looking at the plates she hadnt broken anything....and didnt look to have Alzheimer’s either. Every cloud etc...

Now safe and sound, I phoned her gentleman friend, and self-styled 85 year old ‘toy boy’ Bryan, to ask him if he had been beating her up due to lockdown frustration. “No, not me!” says he.

Certainly looks like she has been 15 rounds with Tyson Fury.
