Len's Narcissi

Len planted some Spring bulbs in a container, in March. He shouldn't have been surprised then that they took a while to germinate. The snowdrops didn't show at all.

But these narcissi are very sprightly, against the dark corner of the patio.

I took Basil down to the meadow. He wanted to drink from the stream but the slope of the bank was too steep and too rough, so he had to make do when he got home with a dirty plant saucer and water from one of the butts. He didn't seem to mind.

So much to see that I'd never noticed before. Flowers and seeds on the trees. New pine cones, a willow tree that has sprouted from a felled log and is showing flowers, magnificent horse chestnuts, small sycamore seeds spilled everywhere. I wonder if any will  mature on the trees.

And perhaps most exciting of all, see the haiku!

what joy, what delight
