The Edge of the Wold

Keeping up appierances

It had become overcast in the afternoon, and I wasn't expecting a sunset. But as Gus and I came back from our evening walk, I could see the sky was colouring up. So, I did what I haven't done since the lockdown began, I got in the car and drove the half mile to the front to see the last gasp of the day.

In normal times there would be the noisy chattering of people sat outside the nearby Albion pub, and photographers and others gathered on the pier to watch the sky and its reflections on the estuary, but tonight it was deserted.

Another day in the garden and the allotment, the sweet corn is planted - not too soon I hope, there is still time for the weather to cool again and for a late frost.
