Diversity in Lockdown

I couldn't resist the photo of these two bluebells - one pink and one blue - outside a gate on my exercise walk that clearly isn't being opened during lockdown. I did more work done on the raised bed, three lots of washing and drying and a mountain or ironing.

Rant of the day - dog-walkers who don't have their dogs on a lead during a pandemic (as urged by the RSPCA) and who also can't control them from running over to you and jumping up!!! And yes I did shout at them to control their dogs!

Day 43 / Day 35 of Full Lockdown (for my record only)
UK deaths up 360 to 21,092 (beware low numbers reported on Sun & Mon, but it is the lowest rise in 4 weeks and the 7 day rolling graph shows a gradual decline from the peak), Italy up 333 to 26,977, Spain up 331 to 23,521. Global cases pass 3M.

Boris speaks from Downing St on his return to thank everyone and also say not to lose patience with the lockdown as this is the 'moment of maximum risk'. New micro loan scheme for small businesses of between £2k & £50k which will be self certified, 100% guaranteed by the government who will also pay interest for Y1 and will be processed in days. Urgent alert issued to GPs about a new condition which has affected under 20 children in the UK which might be related to CV and requires intensive care treatment. A new life assurance scheme announced for NHS and Social Care workers which will pay out £60k in the event of death by CV.

Hong Kong launches a new coating called MAP-1 approved in Feb that protects for 90 days against viruses, bacteria and spores which could be used on things like handrails and lift buttons. It has been under development for 10 years and goes on sale next month.
