Virtual Venice - part 2

Following the success of the local Arts Society’s live virtual tour to Venice on 26/1, today we did a 2nd one with the same lovely tour guide Luisella to Murano. It was a cloudy day, not like the glorious sun we had in Jan. Lovely to see the island and visit the showroom and museum of one of their best glass artists. And I needed that treat after getting confirmation this morning that my clutch does need replacing at £935 incl VAT, hopefully not the flywheel which would be an extra £1,500. They gave me a lift home and hope to get a courtesy car to me in a few days as the work can’t be done until next week. Such bad timing as I’d just started looking to replace it!

Day 407 /  Day 16 of Step 2 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
UK deaths up 17 to 127,451 (revised basis), with 2,685 new cases, 1,608 patients in hospital, 227 on ventilation and 169 new admissions. 33.8m have now received their first dose of the vaccine and 13.2m have had their second dose. A quarter of UK adults are now fully vaccinated, and those over 42 are now being invited for a jab in England. Deaths per 100k of population are highest in NW region at 203.1 and lowest in SW at 80.4, which ties in with which regions had high virus numbers for longest. A committee of MPs have said they have ‘serious concerns’ about the validity and size of COVID penalty fines, the review and appeals process and the criminalisation of those that can’t pay. Wimbledon will have at least 25% crowd capacity this year and big fines will be used against players and their team members who break strict Covid rules. Bizarrely an extra 12% have signed up to British Naturism during the pandemic.
