Are we there yet?

Nest egg

I found this seemingly abandoned partridge egg on our courtyard lawn a few days ago. The girls were very excited and Jade believes it may be fertilised and contain a chick. So a glass fruit bowl was commandeered and filled with grass cutting and places by the AGA. The crocheted duckling has a hole underneath into which they placed the egg. The white disc is a temperature and humidity monitor.

Time will tell.

In other news...
Much needed rain overnight and luckily today I’m indoors in the office book keeping and paying our bills today. We have a well stocked larder after yesterday and various necessities are arriving on Thursday courtesy of Amazon’s subscription service for repeat orders on a monthly, bi-monthly, try-monthly (or even longer) basis. My necessary forays into the danger zone by car are now
1) twice a month to go to the office (15 minutes away) whilst visiting the butchers on the way.
2) once a week to collect fresh produce from the local pub (who are transforming into an online local grocery store) and on the way go to the supermarket.
