It's backblip time tonight, so here's one from last night's wandering through the cabbage trees down along the river.

Cabbage tree fronds are amazingly tough. Whilst many gardeners curse their durability, they make excellent firestarters for the log burner during the winter.

As the summer winds hit, we're picking up fronds daily, safe in the knowledge that we'll get our own back come the first frosty night...
