Govetts Leap

Well of course, Govetts Leap has nothing to do with a bushranger called Govett who lept from a cliff to his death in the Grose Valley (as fancifully suggested by yesterday's blip). Govetts Leap is this waterfall, presumably named by a surveyor called Govett in Blackheath's early history.

I was out experimenting with my variable ND filter again but this time the exposure was a lot longer and strong wind was buffeting the little camera on its mini tripod during the exposure. It's probably not as sharp an image as I'd want but it gives you an idea what the falls are like. The drop to the bottom of the water column is estimated at some 180 metres.
