Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Which?

Elm fruit, but which elm?  Wych or English? Whichever, it gives me another spot to keep an eye open for White-letter Hairstreak butterflies in the summer.

It was dull and cooler today, and we've even had rain. I managed a quick walk down to the woods and back. Another advantage of being out for a short walk every day in the same spot is being able to get a bit more in tune with the order different tree species come into leave or blossom. I'd like to be better at recognising trees, but I've never really worked at it. I did see Bird Cherry and Crab Apple in blossom today.
