Collagen boost!

These are fish bladders and I'm told pure collagen but to eat not put on your face!

This is the village of Tai O on Lantau Island and it remains a working, traditional stilt fishing village. What is left of the catch that cannot be sold live or fresh is dried and every imaginable fish or fish part is used to create Chinese dishes. Sadly the people still fishing are the older generation, children and grandchildren have left to go to the city, so the whole place may soon be a museum.

There were a few stalls selling other foods and I fell for a doughnut that looked huge but was as light as a feather.

Lantau is the biggest of the HongKong Islands but only has 2% of the population so has a very different feel to the other areas. Lovely beaches, a small number of holiday houses and the island's prisons (5 in all)! The main thing you notice are the green hills and atop one of them is the Big Buddha. This was another sight we visited today, below which is a Buddhist monastery where we had a lovely vegetarian lunch.

Our return was via a 5 km long cable car back down to the South China Sea.

A lovely day and very warm, when the sun came out it topped the 20's. Real holiday weather.

If you look closely at the village link you will see 3 very fat cats lying on the seat in the flower bedecked house
The picture of the Buddha is taken from the cable car so shows some reflection
