Sweet Woodruff

A pretty, small herbaceous plant that thrives in the shade of the beech woods.  The leaves are strongly scented, and taste like a newly cut hay meadow with lots of flowers.  The leaves have been used to flavour wine and other drinks for many centuries.  A neighbour has been experimenting with it as a botanical for gin - sounds promising!
