A good walk

Today was lovely and sunny with blue skies, and Gavin and Luke joined me on my walk with Xena after breakfast. Before the walk Gavin went to Cook to collect the food he tried to collect yesterday, but he got there too late as the store had just closed, so last night there was a bit of a last minute flurry trying to sort supper. I refused to cook as it was my night off, so Luke made the most delicious chicken and prawn jambalaya. He is proving to be a very good cook!

Parts of the walk were rather muddy - just a bit of rain this week and the path turns muddy in an instant.

I again spent some time looking at holiday villas to rent in Cornwall in the summer - they are mostly booked up, and if not booked they do not have a cancellation policy and you are liable for the full cost if you cancel, which is not good during this time of Coronavirus as we don't know if lockdown will be lifted or not, or possibly re instituted if there is a second wave of infection. We probably can go to Switzerland as they are opening up most things from 11 May, including restaurants and schools, but we are not sure if we can drive through France which has closed borders and Macron has warned that they will be closed until September. It is frustrating not being able to plan for anything, and as lockdown fatigue sets in you cannot help dreaming about a summer holiday.

This photo was taken on the walk today - you can just see Xena up ahead - she loves this walk as she darts in and out of the woods on either side of the path chasing squirrels.
