This is Eric....

....he is one of our three cats.

Well actually he's still a kitten (10 months), his brother Marley and mother Maisey are around here somewhere....

Eric and Marley have recently been spayed (you can still see the shaved area on Eric's chest) and during the standard preparation for this procedure we got some bad news....

....following some blood tests and chest x-ray the vet has confirmed that Eric has an enlarged heart.

We have been advised that this presents no problems in the immediate future it does however mean that sadly Eric is likely to have a reduced life expectancy :(

There were of course tears in the Prout House but we all agreed that no matter how long we have left with Eric we will make it as warm/cuddly/happy/ as possible :)
