When love is stretched

This little girl lives five hours from us. Too far to drop in and play with at the best of times. But in these days, just about impossible to get to. So her dad, our son, drops us a little video now and then and it brightens up the day considerably.

Lilianna is eleven months old now. She is bright and happy and sleeps like a baby should sleep in a perfect world. When she's had enough of people, she communicates with a bit of a fuss and her parents lay her in her bed where she coos and giggles away, to herself. Seems like being alone is alright for her, and healing for her. Probably an introvert. :)

But her eyes light up and a smile comes on her face as soon as she sees someone, anyone really.

These little granddaughters sure have a way of winding their way around your heart, and love is stretched over the miles. You fear it might break one day, but it turns out that love is pretty patient and enduring and can be stretched a great distance and still is love.

Sure do miss holding her close, this small soul.
