A favourite childhood poem

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep and cows.

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

Before setting off for a brief walk this morning I headed to the chemist to put in my prescription. Notice on the door 'May 4th Bank Holiday ...... Pharmacy not opening until 10am'  I had some time to wait so went and did some shopping in our small Tesco which was almost deserted.

It was very chilly first thing this morning .... certainly needed my jacket.
Even walking briskly in the park wasn't enough to get rid of the chill. By mid afternoon the sun appeared and the temperature rose quite considerably.
