Its a Fluke

Well that is the name by which this fish is known locally. It is probably more well known as a Flounder or simply a Flatfish. It comes into the Estuary with the tide and buries itself in the surface of the sand. Black on top and white underneath.

It is breakfast time for this Lesser Black Backed Gull. I watched it for about ten minutes during which time no others tried to share its prize.

There are two more shots in extras.

Further on in the Nature Reserve parallel to the beach were these rather less aggressive little creatures also shown in extras. The wild flowers just behind the rabbits are Bugle.

Another perfect morning for a 3.6 mile walk. Then back for coffee and lots of plant watering.
