Traeturiaid y bugeilydd ~ Plantain (Plantago Lanceolata)

Heb ffotograffiaeth dydw i ddim yn siŵr byddai gen i gymaint o ddiddordeb mewn planhigion.  Heb Gymraeg fyddwn i ddim wedi cael fy nghyflwyno i'r cyfoeth enwau planhigion yn yr iaith Gymraeg.  Hwn yw Plantain (yn Saesneg) neu Plantago Lanceolata (yn Ladin). Yn Gymraeg mae llawer o enwau gyda fe. Rydw i'n arbennig o hoff 'Traeturiaid y bugeilydd' neu 'The shepherd's footmen'. Mae'r dail yn fwytadwy, mae'n debyg.

Without photography, I'm not sure I would be so interested in plants. Without Welsh, I wouldn't have been introduced to the wealth of plant names in the Welsh language. This is Plantain (in English) or Plantago Lanceolata (in Latin). In Welsh it has many names. I especially like 'Traeturiaid y bugeilydd' or 'The shepherd's footmen'. The leaves are edible, apparently.
