Tiny Tuesday ....

... 36th wedding anniversary, stay safe heart.

Today marks 36 years of being married to my best friend!! And while it wasn't our normal anniversary celebration type day I will not say it was disappointing because no day spent in the company of my Beloved is disappointing.  It just wasn't as we had originally planned as we should have been in either Utah celebrating with some special friends or somewhere in or around Las Vegas.  Sigh.

But ... we still managed to have a great day even though we were unable to have a special dinner out together.  We started by going to the Trexler Game Preserve as this is still open even with the zoo being closed to the public.  We took our lunch and sat at a picnic table to enjoy the sights and sounds of mother nature.  Then drove through the preserve to see the Elk and Bison.

From the game preserve we drove to Leaser Lake because R had read that there were some great bird sightings.  On the way to the lake I was trying to get in touch with our favorite Mexican restaurant to order dinner to go for tonight.  I kept getting a busy signal. When I was finally able to get through they told me the only time slot left was at 8:40 pm ... probably because of Cinco de Mayo!  That's way too late for us to be having dinner so we had to make other plans. More on that later.

At Leaser Lake we walked around a little bit but were only seeing American Robins.  No other birds!  Suffice to say we didn't stay long.

After leaving Leaser Lake we stopped at a few other places to pick up some groceries and other things.  We returned home by 4:15 pm where I set about trying to find an alternative for dinner.  We ended up simply ordering some sandwiches from a local sandwich shop.  Not a fancy dinner by any means but at least we were together.

This was certainly a one of a kind anniversary (hopefully) ... and not one I care to repeat!  But as I said we spent it together and that's the important thing!

BTW: The tiny heart above was spotted as we were driving out this morning to start our busy day!  We saw a bunch of these hearts scattered about .... posted on the stop signs at various intersections.

♥♥ Love you, R!! ♥♥
