Day 44 – Dalmahoy Hill

It was a beautiful day; cloudless, pleasantly warm with only a gentle easterly breeze. We decided to cycle out to beyond Balerno, and go up 3 hills which all have at least a 30 metre drop between them and the next hill. These are TUMPs and the first one, Ravelrig Hill was only classified at the end of March. After there we went up Kaimes Hill and then Dalmahoy Hill, both of which are Basalt hills that have been extensively quarried. The blip is the view as we came down Kaimes Hill towards Dalmahoy Hill and Arthur’s Seat. The whin is well out and the rape fields are also prominent.

Best large.
