Hamburger Bahnhof

The second day in Berlin was great. Started off with a leisurely breakfast in the hotel then the students had a wee bit of the morning to explore while my colleague and I headed down to a brunch that the Transmediale organisers had put on for professionals. We got chatting to a guy called Ted from San Francisco who works lecturing on the Visual Communication MFA course at Basel University. We also got a talk with Sophie who organises the professional events at Transmediale and Marcus the Programme director. We got some great tips for things to see and do and some good food as well.

After that we met up with the students and did our trip to Hamburger Bahnhof. There was some great stuff to see and it's an amazing building, a fantastic place to take photos in (I blipped it last year too).

Next we headed down for the opening of Transmediale. It looks like there is going to be some great stuff to see and do this year. We're headed back for two full days so more reports later.

Then we had time for a quick bit of dinner before heading out to a CTM festival gig at Berghain. I can see what all the hype is about. It's an amazing space, with great lighting and a ridiculously good sound system. It would be great to see it with the proper crowd in there rather than the festival one as I imagine it would be fantastic.

I got back to the hotel at about half one shattered after such a log day and pretty much went straight to sleep, hence the back blip.
