Sunbeams

Yellow tail moth caterpillar

There were two on the shrub.  I have never heard of this moth nor seen the adult.  The moth is  white all over with hairy legs and a yellow tufty tip to the abdomen - larger in the female. (Euproctis similis of the family Erebidae). Also called the Goldtail moth or the swan moth.  When the moth is touched it lies on its side with its wings closed pretending to be dead.

Extras: the postman; and T decided, since there was a window in the weather of sunshine for a few days, to  mow the grass for silage; and, lastly, bee feeding on nectar.
