Sound the horn

Very pleased to find this Bugle hiding under a peony bush while gardening today. I’m not ‘celebrating’ VE Day as such - in the UK there’s a ‘British exceptionalism’ narrative that troubles me greatly. But I am hugely grateful to all those who helped to defeat the 1940s version of Fascism and to all those who built on this to ensure that we have had peace in Europe for the past 75 years. I hope this spirit of co-operation can continue in tackling all the challenges we face in this generation.
