Gin House Blues

The blue-tinged hue and swirling glass pattern of the Harris Gin bottle reminds me of how much we miss visiting our croft in the Outer Hebrides. When we sail from Skye to Harris we usually call into the Isle of Harris Distillery at Tarbert before driving up to the Isle of Lewis. The island is still shut to non-residents but we're looking forward to lighting the peat fire and returning to our island home soon.

After the passing of keyboard player Dave Greenfield, my album of the day is "Rattus Norvegicus" by The Stranglers from 1977. Not to everyone's taste but virtually every track is a little masterpiece. A bit controversial in its subject matter, but what would you expect from an album named after the rodent blamed for spreading the Black Death.

No live concerts from the 70's on this day.
