The Old Shed

This is the old shed that stood on our allotment. It wasn't in great shape when we took it on but it was somewhere to keep the necessary 'stuff', and also shelter in the event of rain. J had made it a new door and repaired just about every part of it.

A couple of years ago the allotment land was sold and the new owner wants to build houses. There is still no planning application but the allotment holders were given notice to quit. Several of them, including J, carried on even though they had to climb over gates and fences. Then a part of the area was fenced off with a section left for new allotments. There is still no official agreement in place but several people have taken over some of the land, including J, where lots of things are growing. A 'new' shed has been appropriated and the old one left to rot - it would not survive a move!

Today I helped with the watering and then wandered in to look at 'our' old shed. I will return soon to record the wonderful dereliction of sheds and other artefacts just left to rot - a wonderful photographic opportunity.

I'm adding a couple of dandelion pics from yesterday marathon with fiddly seed heads - I even managed a few in reflective milky water.
