Eisenhower Memorial

The opening was set of this weekend, but has been pushed back to September because of Corona. It is a very controversial memorial as his granddaughters have been critical of the design and the Washington Post called it a monstrosity. I saw it several times while they were building it and this afternoon had a chance to poke my lens through the fence. Personally, I think it is a beautiful addition to the area. Before the memorial was built, there was really nothing there but a view of an ugly building and a railroad overpass. It is across the street from the Air and Space Museum and has 4 acres of grass. There are two rows of 80 foot columns that perfectly frame the Capitol Building. I am looking forward to seeing the memorial up close when it opens.
