Anne's Daily Encounters

The quiet of old times

The sea was calm today and from tomorrow onwards a spell of hot air from the South is expected... hopefully without the dust. Found this quiet scene in Chania, close to the beach of Koum Kapi.

We're allowed to walk the streets again and can shop from more shops from today onwards and can drive the car within the province we live... it absolutely results in more traffic, both in the streets and on the pavement.

But there are no tourists around and that makes a big difference in the scene at this time of the year... it's like Pre Tourist Years are back here; in Winter it's like it's now; just the locals out in town and across the island.
I'm not the only one who does like this, but ofcourse all who work in and for the tourist business are looking forward to them tourists coming asap as they make the money roll around.

Thank you all for reacting upon my latest blips... my en-profil of the young student I'd sent on to the local newspaper Τα Χανιωτικα Νεα and they replied me in gratitude for sending them this optimistic image in Corona Crisis times. And yesterday's capture of the Orange blossom in that tree, was another big surprise find here ... need to find its name still
