A Bee in my Bonnet

I've still got a bee in my bonnet about the poor government communication about the changes (not the changes themselves). Boris gave us the wrong return to work date for step 1, it's Wed not today. Raab this morning said you could meet your parents in an open space and 2m apart, then it had to be corrected as you can only meet one person outside your household at any time (in the open and 2m apart). Then we were told about wearing face coverings in enclosed spaces where you can't keep 2m apart - this was covered by Boris in his briefing as part of the explanation of what 'alert' means, but it hadn't made it onto the slide. Then Boris said step 3 was no later than 4th July, it's no earlier than 4th July. I've heard that you can go to the beach, and that you can't go to the beach. They need a Communications Minister!

Day 57 / Day 49 of Full Lockdown (for my record only)
UK deaths up 210 to 32,065 (beware low no's Sun / Mon), Italy up 179 to 30,739, Spain up 123 to 26,744.

48 page document released today clarifying changes, but the guidance for businesses on being 'Covid secure' hasn't been issued yet. ONS says no increased risk for health workers showing in data, but social care workers are twice as likely to die and male security guards are four times as likely to die. Increased risk for taxi drivers, chauffeurs, bus & coach drivers, chefs and sales & retail assistants. The best assessment is that 4-10% of the population has had the virus.
