Today's the day ……………………… for the colour purple

I have a (completely unscientific) theory that the natural world goes through phases of colour as the year progresses.

For example, it all goes very yellow in the middle of spring with celandines, daffodils and the like - having just been whitish earlier on with snowdrops and wood anemones.  We've just had a very pale pink and blue phase with forget-me-nots, bluebells and persicaria.  Now - I'm delighted to tell you - we are entering the deep purple stage.

And that suits me just fine ………………………..
