Our Patch

We have started visiting this area of Preston Beach on a regular basis. It is our nearest beach and we come down regularly or stop on our way home for a short while and check out this area of rocks and rock pools at low tide. It was a lovely day today so we were there for a couple of hours and walked the whole length of Paignton beach as well. We filled a bag full of litter and rubbish from the rocks and looked at the bird life. Lots of oyster catchers and lovely turnstones. Last week we saw two purple sandpipers. The sea looks calm and idyllic but sadly in the last two days in rough weather two men have been drowned off Torquay.
