Just when you don't expect it

Suddenly, late yesterday afternoon, the rain stopped and the sun made a brief appearance. It gave us one of those strange and briefly reassuring winter sunsets - streaks of orange, pink, blue and white. This morning, the storm resumed with a vengeance until the rain clouds blew over once again to release a brightening sky. It was still windy and colder too, but better by far. Perhaps less colourful this evening as the sun receded, but still pretty enough to capture the last moments.
