There's not a religious bone in my body, but these words resonate. One of the old songs of ascent. Sung by pilgrims on their way to their holy places, it seemed apt today.

A hilarious volunteer shift at the hospital this morning, it's two decades since I was on the tools, but common sense is straightforward. For most. Enthusiasm met confused today as 16 volunteers built 18 infection control screens. At least they tried.
Quite why we're now equipping a hospital that wasn't going to be used for covid patients probably doesn't bear too close examination...

Then a wander out on MrsIttH's new day off. Mardale carpark was depressingly busy, really hope it was a lot of locals like us, keen to get back to a favourite place. We only saw 4 people but we arrived late in the day, we would usually see none midweek.
