SALVIA coccinea: Scarlet Sage

This Sage might also be SALVIA greggii.  Both have great Latin names & are native herbaceous perennials; but are  happy in drought tolerant residential gardens, along with succulents.  I love them both.

Today was a great day, just warm enough, with a slight breeze.
We have been noticing white pigeons circling in the sky, while we have been out walking Angus & Scout.  They seem to be circling just 1 house, on the corner of a busy street. We tried to photograph them, but have not been able to get a good shot.

Today the owner was out working in the yard, & we asked him about them.
He said he has been keeping pigeons as pets since he was a boy.  He lets them out for a few hours & then they return to their pigeon house on the side yard.  Staying safe from the hawks is a challenge.

Since the pandemic, people seem to be friendlier & welcome a chat.
Now we have met a neighbor who has interesting pets..  Never a dull day during a pandemic....
