A Day In The Life

Here Comes the Judge

The warmer temps are bringing back more and more Double-crested Cormorants to the Kennebec River for the summer. They are a favorite of ours to watch as they dive beneath the water’s surface to catch fish. Because they don’t have as much preen oil on their feathers to deflect water, they are often seen out of the water with their wings spread to dry. They remind us of bats, or Judges in their black robes. One of these days I’ll get a shot of one for you to see • All is well here today. Some errands, planted broccoli, and have a Virtual Happy Hour later with friends • Take good care!
