A Day In The Life

Eating Out Of My Hand

What a glorious day today! Sunny, light winds, and temps in the upper 60s-F. I mowed half the yard for the first time, but the other half will have to wait. Hopefully this week’s temps will dry it out. We did some weeding in the peony and hosta beds, cleaned out debris from the phlox bed, set out support cages for the peonies and poppy, and finished with a bit of weed whacking, although there’s much more to do. It was wonderful being outside • The highlight? While filling feeders with seed, a black-capped chickadee landed in my hand for a seed. It was a first for me. It was a thrill to see him so close, and feel his feet on my skin. What a day!
