Maddeningly

Most of the morning I relaxed in the bedroom, figuring out how to get money I owe to my Portuguese teacher in Maputo, and dealing with incoming information we need for the proposal we have to complete this week. Plus, I was being lazy.

It turned out to be a lovely sunny day that warranted much time outdoors. This included cycling out to Madingley west of Cambridge, home to a manor house (closed), a cemetery for American service people (off-limits) and a duckpond which was possible to sit next to. The Canada geese guarded their goslings, harangued ducks who came too close and aggressively commandeered the morsels of bread thrown by various families. They also hissed at the families, which was counter-intuitive, but there aren’t very big brains in those small heads.

Our second Zoom quiz was a triumph, expertly managed by Hannah. She threw in some challenging rounds. My favourite question was to name the four playing zones in the original Crystal Maze. Simply inspired. Aztec, industrial, futuristic and medieval. If anyone needs to know.
