The tree next door came down today. It was scheduled for removal before the lockdown but that got postponed. So now it's in leaf and so it's a bit of a visual shock to see it go. But the lovely neighbours agreed with us that it was time. It sheds branches and is dangerous for small children below. And when Joe up there started cutting into it he discovered that there was extensive rot in the forks of the trunks.
So it's just as well that it was taken down before something fell off. And we are going to replace it with a more attractive species in the winter which, after a few years, will be an improvement.
All part of the long term visual improvement of the area.
