Plums

Our plum tree looks like it is going to produce a good crop this year.  It always loses some during the summer, but the number growing at the moment means we should be left with plenty come the autumn.

The tree is leaning quite badly, with some heavy branches which I am concerned could cause it to topple.  I have propped it up as best as I can but I think it really needs pruning heavily.  However, this should apparently be done in Spring or mid-Summer, either of which would mean losing much of the crop.  I shall wait for a year when it doesn't produce much fruit.
