I choose this bread loaf for its name and it was more than worth it. Not whole meal - what I usually prefer - but just perfect in all other ways. It tasted perfect with my home made wild garlic butter (and nothing else).

Extra: A Knerzje
All over Germany the two ends of bread loafs have different names. Here we call them "Knerzje". As a child, when send to the bakery to get a new loaf of bread, I would come home all the time without at least one Knerzje - I nibbled it off on the way home. My mother was never too excited, but that didn't stop me. Best part of fresh bread (and that smell, oh that smell of fresh bread!).
