Summer of '82

My first experience of Malvern was way back in my postgraduate days when RSRE (as was) sponsored research into liquid crystals.  

I've filed this part of my life under one of my bigger mistakes and the biggest waste of time, but it did introduce me to Malvern, for which I'm grateful.

The site is being mostly-demolished for housing.  A lot of locals are upset about this as there's a lot of important history embedded in those buildings (mostly the development of radar, but also other things like LCDs, touch screens, etc.) but sometimes it's time to move on.
