Linton Hydro

A hydro-electric power station was opened at Linton-on-Ouse Locks in 1923 in response to the high price of coal after WW1.  it was in service for nearly 40 years before closing in 1972.  In 2012 a modern hydro plant was installed which was further modernised in 2017.
A very sensible use of natural resources.
