RIP RAF Linton-on-Ouse

It is really sad when an airfield is in partial closure.  RAF Linton-on-Ouse ceased flying training operations last October (2019), but it is still an active airfield from where the Yorkshire University Air Squadron fly.  It also provides radar coverage of the sector from a brand new air traffic control centre.
However, despite all the best efforts of those personnel still working there, the base is in sad decline and very soon I am convinced the UAS will transfer to an operational base where the continued viability of the UAS is more affordable.  When that happens who knows what will happen to the airfield that has provided service to this country since it's opening on 13th May, 1937.
