March Music

In the early "getting to know you" days of our relationship, Phil and I were surprised to learn that Antonín Dvorák's New World Symphony was one of the first records (remember 33-1/3 rpm LPs?) that each of us had purchased in our younger years -- his in Wales, mine in Ohio.

It remains a favorite still for us, and in March, we're going to the Mount Baker Theatre to hear the Whatcom Symphony perform this beloved work. I bought the tickets today, and also photographed the poster for the concert, featuring the talented -- and photogenic -- virtuoso violinist Sarah Chang, who will perform a suite of music from West Side Story, arranged for her by composer David Newman. That will be a memorable afternoon of glorious music!

(We have another pleasant experience coming up much sooner -- a brief trip, beginning tomorrow. We're both looking forward to having new things to blip!)
