Wound up in Wexford

Red hawthorn

One of our trees in the developing woodland area of the garden.  We've had it 3 years, and it seems to be getting established at last.  This is the first year it has produced significant numbers of flowers.

It seems to flower a little later than the ordinary hawthorn, the large specimen of which, on our boundary, has lost all its blossom this weekend in the strong winds.
